PRECIOUS METALS

With a focus on creating quality pieces that last, we only use nickel free, precious metals in our jewellery. In addition, we champion the use of recycled metals where possible. All of our cast sterling silver pieces are crafted from recycled sterling silver.

Sterling Silver
Our sterling silver is high quality nickel free, sterling silver 925. Pure silver is too soft for jewellery production as it can scratch easily and is therefore not as durable. Silver is therefore mixed with other metals  (alloyed) to create a stronger, more durable metal. Sterling Silver therefore consists of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% of other metals such as copper.

Gold Plating and Gold Vermeil
All of our gold plated or gold vermeil pieces consist of a nickel free sterling silver base and have been finished with gold plating. Our gold plating and gold vermeil pieces consist of a minimum of 14k gold.

Solid 9k Gold
All of our LT LUXE pieces are crafted in nickel free, solid 9k gold. Our current pieces are either made in recycled 9k gold, or SMO gold. SMO gold (single mine origin) is gold that is fully traceable from the single mine, back to the jewellery that is created with it. It allows us to be sure where our gold is coming from. SMO mines adhere to strict responsibility standards.

GEMSTONES

Diamonds
All diamonds used in Linda Tahija pieces are natural, untreated diamonds which are conflict free. Diamonds are extremely hard and durable and have the amazing ability to interact with light.

Gemstones

We use a range of gemstones in our pieces. Some of these are natural stones, others are lab grown, or created stones. Currently we use natural Amethyst, Garnet, White Topaz, Blue Topaz, Aquamarine, Moonstone, Opal, Peridot & Citrine. The created stones we currently use are Created Emerald, Created Ruby & Created Sapphire.
